International Project Management Association (IPMA) is considering launching a new project management journal for the benefit of the global project management community.
The new IPMA journal is expected to be positioned between the International Journal of Project Management (IJPM), which is purely scientific, and the former Project Perspectives, which blended academic project management research with practical project management. The new journal is expected to be an online journal with a global reach, complementing the various national and regional periodicals and journals currently published by IPMA Member Associations (MAs).
The new journal is expected to establish a forum for researchers and practitioners, and to focus on case studies reflecting new research and findings in various areas of project management, e.g. by presenting case studies on ICB and reports on IPMA Project Excellence Award winners. In doing so, the new journal will reflect the growing practice and interests of project managers, while contributing to the underlying body of scholarship. The new journal is expected to provide medium for connecting project management theory and practice, and for publishing research relevant for the everyday experience and needs of project managers. The new journal is expected to benefit the regional communities of practitioners, researchers, and service providers, and to enhance recognition and increase membership of the local IPMA Member Associations.
Some ideas have been presented regarding the new IPMA journal, however, in order to ensure the new journal meets the approval of project management community, members of IPMA family are kindly invited to participate in a survey in order to indicate exactly what they would like to see in the new journal, how they would like to contribute to the new journal, and how the new journal would be best published.
The survey can be accessed at https://fi.surveymonkey.com/s/new_IPMA_journal_IRs .
The survey is open until the end of August.
IPMA Research Management Board (RMB) appreciates your time, and looks forward to finding out how you feel about the new journal!
